Drug abuse testing is a tool
parents can use to help their children stay away from dangerous
substances and keep them drug free.
Drug abuse in the U.S. even among children and especially teenagers is a
very real danger. As a tool to keep their children away from drugs
parents can implement random drug testing as a method of helping
children to say no. Talking to your children about the dangers of drugs
along with testing for drug abuse is a good way to curb any problems
associated with drug abuse. The problems that are created from drugs are
numerous. Teenagers drop out of school early, never finishing their
education. Income then becomes a problem because they can not find work.
To support their drug
habit teens then turn to stealing either from their parents wallets or
even armed robbery. The lifestyle is viscous and cruel. Nothing matters
except getting high.
For those of you who think that parents drug abuse testing their
children is an invasion of privacy let me remind you that the number one
goal of a parent is to protect the well being of their child. This
method only helps the child and does not harm. Keeping the child healthy
and safe should be the ultimate goal for the parent.
Parents should not submit their child to drug abuse testing without
talking to the child in an honest, respectful way about the test.
Children will in turn respect the parent for being honest and feel
confident to know that they have someone there who wants to keep them
safe. Parents should always keep an open dialogue with their children
about the dangers of using drugs. Not every single child become a drug
abuser but parents have the responsibility of making sure their kids
avoid this path if at all possible.
